OIP-15: Funding NodesHub for Becoming an Onomy Protocol Validator

Dear Onomy Community,

Hello everyone, I am from NodesHub Validator team, a dedicated team focused on providing robust validation and infrastructure services within the Cosmos ecosystem.

With experience in running validator for almost 30 Mainnet cosmos networks. We also run archive nodes for various chains, including Celestia Mainnet, Celestia Testnet, Bitcanna, Source, and others, we are eager to extend our expertise to the Onomy network.

Proposal Overview

At NodesHub, we are committed to enhancing the security, performance, and accessibility of blockchain networks. We propose to join the Onomy Validator Guild with a funding request to support our operations and contribute to the Onomy ecosystem. This funding will enable us to establish and maintain high-performance validator nodes, RPC endpoints, and an archive node for Onomy.

Proposal Details

We request funding of 225,000 NOM tokens from the DAO treasury to meet the self-delegation requirement and support our broader initiatives to contribute to the Onomy ecosystem.

Our Contributions:

  • Network Security and Performance: Delivering reliable validation services for Onomy’s mainnet and testnet to ensure network resilience and robustness.
  • Infrastructure Support: Offering additional network infrastructure through dependable RPC and seed nodes, improving the overall performance and reliability of the Onomy network.
  • Archive Node Services: Operating an archive node for Onomy, leveraging our expertise in managing archive nodes for other chains, and providing snapshots of the archive node to support developers and researchers.

Governance Participation:

  • Active Governance: Engaging actively in governance proposals and discussions to represent community interests and contribute to Onomy’s strategic direction.

Educational Outreach:

  • Onboarding and Tutorials: Creating comprehensive guides to facilitate the onboarding process for new Onomy users, ensuring a smooth entry into the ecosystem.

Strategic Initiatives:

  • IBC Paths: Establishing and maintaining Inter-Blockchain Communication (IBC) paths between Onomy and other chains, enhancing interoperability and asset transfer fluidity.

Commitment to High SLA Uptime

NodesHub is dedicated to maintaining high SLA uptime for our nodes. We understand the importance of network reliability and will implement robust infrastructure and monitoring systems to ensure continuous and stable network participation.

We’ve already been running an RPC and Api endpoint node for onomy for over 3 months.

Open Dialogue:

We welcome further discussion to refine this proposal before taking it on-chain.

Thank you for considering our proposal.

Sincerely,

Team
NodesHub

Follow-Up on OIP-15 Proposal

Hello Onomy Community,

We wanted to follow up on our proposal (OIP-15) submitted three days ago, for requesting 225,000 NOM tokens to support NodesHub in becoming an Onomy Protocol Validator.

We are eager to hear your feedback and answer any questions you might have about our proposal. Your input is invaluable in refining our approach to contribute effectively to the Onomy ecosystem.

We believe our experience and commitment can significantly benefit the Onomy network, and we are open to discussions to refine our proposal further.

Please share your thoughts, suggestions, or questions. We look forward to a fruitful discussion.

Thank you for considering our proposal.

Sincerely,
Team NodesHub

Dear Community,

After careful consideration and observing the lack of engagement on our proposal, we have decided to withdraw our submission. We understand that the timing may not have aligned with the community’s current priorities, and we respect that.

We appreciate the opportunity to present our ideas. Should there be more interest or alignment at a later date, we would be open to revisiting this proposal.

Thank you for your time and consideration.

Best regards,
Team Nodes Hub

Hi @Nodeshub thank you for the proposal and interest! As you may have noticed, Onomy’s DAO had been dealing with substantial decisions during the time period in which you submitted your proposal for discussion.

I would recommend closely monitoring for updates over the next couple of months so that you could re-engage at a better time. Also, I am interested in proposing to the DAO of ridding the self-bond altogether - making it open for you to join as you wish.
